Available For EMEA Codes As FOTA Update!



Just want to give everyone a quick heads up that latest firmware update for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is now regularly available for most of the generic Euro codes as 4MB 'Over The Air' update.

As usually, software will be progressively available at the Nokia service points and is expected to be available through the NSU shortly.

There is no detailed change log but according to user reports over at our forum section new software is hackable with the HelloOX, Installserver patch from v20 works on v21 as well, so there is no reason to not to update it if your phone is in range of currently supported product codes.

Nokia 5800 has the UDP and hack remains active even after update but it is anyway highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update just as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.

To get this software just click on the Menu button, than > Settings > Phone > Phone mgmt > Device updates > Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on-screen prompts. Remember that you can also use Wi-Fi to download the update.

Process of downloading and updating firmware shouldn't take too long and cost you too much as it is around 4MB. Nokia provides this software free of charge. However, costs for downloading may be charged by your network operator or service provider. Please contact them for information about pricing.


As with all software releases, note that your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved this release. Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants have the latest Nokia device firmware.
